Absolut Vodka

Absolut commissioned The Absolut Crown for Absolut x Warhol: The Other Half at Saatchi Gallery, London, in October 2024. Presented digitally beneath Andy Warhol’s 1985 Absolut Blue, Ken’s work places a crown at the base of the bottle.
The crown draws on the depiction of Mansa Musa in the Catalan Atlas of 1375. Ken uses it to bring a history of African wealth and authority into a familiar commercial image. The bottle appears to wear the crown, changing how we read an object we think we know.
